Flavorful Vegan Focaccia Recipe

Begin by mixing 2 cups of warm water, 1 packet of yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a large bowl. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Add 4 cups of flour (you can use a mix of all-purpose and whole wheat for extra flavor) and 2 teaspoons of salt to the yeast mixture.

Stir until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Once risen, punch down the dough and transfer it to a greased baking sheet. Gently press it out to fill the pan evenly.

Drizzle olive oil over the dough and use your fingertips to create dimples all over the surface.

Sprinkle with your choice of toppings – rosemary, cherry tomatoes, olives, or even sliced garlic.

Let the dough rest for another 15-20 minutes while preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Bake the focaccia for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp on the edges.

Serve warm, sliced into squares, and enjoy the aroma and taste of homemade vegan focaccia bread!
